Father-daughter relationship help with a car situation! Please help?

My father and I haven’t been the closest. My parents divorced when I was 2, and saw him every weekend for about 10 years. Now, he’s moved far out and I rarely see him because its such a long drive. He also has 3 more kids with my step mom, 5 children in total. Because I’ve done well in school my whole life, and it being my senior year this year, he decided to give me a car as a reward (an older one that they had finished paying off a few years ago). My family here (my mom, her boyfriend, and my older brother) need this car badly. My mom and her boyfriend both lost their licenses to DUIs, and we only have 1 car now because one has a club on the steering wheel. The car my dad is giving me had bad brakes, and since he’s a mechanic, is supposed to be fixing them himself. I start band camp tomorrow and we all need a second car badly! My dad has been telling me for 2 weeks he will “get it done tonight” but still hasn’t done anything with it! More coming..
Is it okay for me to call my dad and try to pressure him into working on it and getting it done? He works 6 days a week, and has 3 young kids to take care of. Is it okay for me to beg him to get it done for me when he gets nothing in return?
My brother and I do all the driving. My mom and her boyfriend don’t drive anymore.
Also, the car will be for me to get to band camp and such things as my brother will have to drive them around while I’m there. My dad also has an account where he puts about a 100$ a month for my college. He used that to get the brake parts, and for my band. Money isn’t a problem. It’s getting him to get my car done. It’s been 2 weeks, and I really need this car!

How can I save money on Gasoline and help Illegal Immigrants?

I need help, i need to know, what to do, am very confused! This is my guy againt my family?

Best way to volunteer mechanic services to club racing teams?

I have an extremely high working knowledge of cars and race cars. I read Race Car Engineering and have many Motorbooks about the subject of racing. I wouldn’t mind starting out by just changing oil or keeping the tools organized.

Is it ethical for a gynecological nurse to pressure a couple into having children based upon her own beliefs?

I went to a new gynecologist and when I told the nurse-midwife who was examining me that my husband and I did not want to have children, she immediately started telling me that not wanting children was “unnatural” and that I WOULD change my mind before I turned 30. I said that my husband and I have genetic conditions that we would prefer NOT to pass on and quite frankly have NEVER liked children under the age of 3 or 4. I’m also planning on going to school for automotive service management once my husband finishes his bachelor’s degree. Its pretty hard to look under the hood of a car with pregnant belly! My husband and I are conservative Southern Baptists and we found this VERY inappropriate. A doctor in the practice apologized for this but we feel that their should be some type of ethical rules against this. This is a VERY personal decision!
This nurse also gave me incorrect information on the few birth control options available to me. I’m taking a medication that reduces the effect of hormonal birth control; have had problems with severe bleeding from implants and get a mild skin reaction to latex condoms.

The doctor who apologized to me finally recommended my husband having a vasectomy to save me from going through surgery.

Road rage turned into club swinging maniac.what should I do?

Going up an on-ramp I signaled to the cars behind me BEFORE the road adjoined and became a two lane I turned on my left blinker to let the cars behind me know my intentions. There were no cars coming except the ones behind me so at this time I made a couple glances in my rear view mirror and noticed the vehicle behind turned their signal on as well. When the lane opened up I proceeded to pass. Have way the car behind me swung out onto the emergency lane trying to pass both of us and went by us both pointing and screaming. As fate would have it, a stop light a half mile down the road had us sitting next to each other. An argunment ensued stating each others right to pass. This person then gets out of their vehicle with a club/stick and started yelling. He threw the stick at my vehicle. I went to open my door to get the stick and thought better. So I instead rolled my window down to warn him I had his licenses plate number. During which he picks the stick back up and wacks me on the arm with it. I finished rolloing up my window I said I will be reporting you to the law. Surprisingly he followed me to the police station. It was obvioius from the start they did not want to do the paper work. After all said and done he told them I was picking on him because he was an old man (he was about 65, I am 43) even though I made no advancements towards him except when I opened my car door about 8 inches to get the stick. Now I have a dent in my vehicle and a bruise on my arm, That the offercers saw the red spot on my arm and he admitted doing it. Should I not charge this person for agrevated assault? I dont want nothing and can live with the dent in my truck but I thought what if next time he has a gun and shoots someone. Should I go through the trouble and file charges? Or is it too late since this was 48 hours ago?
If I had to do it all over again I would have ignored him and just pulled away when the light changed. I cant beleive I did not just do that. But it amazed me how right he thought he was to attack my vehicle and me and then say I was picking on an old man (i just cant get over that one).
