Please Help Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.2 (2000) Manual engine problem?
Gooner2008 asked:
I have got a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Club 16V, I have been having a problem with the engine. Whenever I press on the accelerator the car acts erratically and slows down this usually happens when I first start the engine or when I am driving just above 40mph continuously, this is also followed by the engine sign display on the dash board, what could be the problem? Thank you

Hi, if you want to get more information about it, go to
There’s a good chance the mass air flow meter is faulty. When this happens on the Corsa, it feels very underpowered, gives a “lean exhaust” fault as a diagnostic trouble code and can give excessive pinking (mettalic rattle) under load. It needs to be plugged in to be sure, you just can’t guess.
Personally, although you might think it expensive, I’d go to a Vauxhall dealer where they will have seen hundreds like it and will probably fix it very quickly. I know because I work for one.
